Narrative:

This morning at XB00 I was called by my crew scheduler and given a trip at XD00 this afternoon. We have reserves standing by, but air carrier continues to call early in morning so they can find people home. This broke up rest periods. I got to sleep about XA00 and then woke up at the XB00 call. I was unable to get back to sleep and now xc, 2/wed/89, I'm going to have to fly an aircraft and I'm really tired. I don't believe this practice is a safe one and the more it happens with our air carrier, can it be happening with others? All crew members should have an uninterrupted rest break every day. But, due to intimidation by air carrier (called to mgrs office for sick calls, etc), most pilots would fly instead of calling in and not taking flight. I believe this situation is getting out of hand and could cause a serious accident.
