Narrative:
During departure from teb with clearance for the ruudy 4 departure procedure; haays intersection; I mistakenly started a turn towards haays after passing ruudy without receiving vectors. Shortly after the turn towards haays; ATC advised about the heading mismatch. At this point I realized that I should have continued on heading 280 and expect vectors to haays. ATC pointed out traffic in front of me which I reported in sight and no action was required to maintain visual separation.

Narrative: During departure from TEB with clearance for the RUUDY 4 departure procedure; HAAYS Intersection; I mistakenly started a turn towards HAAYS after passing RUUDY without receiving vectors. Shortly after the turn towards HAAYS; ATC advised about the heading mismatch. At this point I realized that I should have continued on heading 280 and expect vectors to HAAYS. ATC pointed out traffic in front of me which I reported in sight and no action was required to maintain visual separation.
