Narrative:

Descent on approach pdx runway 28R at level off 5;300 ft MSL got a egpws warning terrain terrain pull up pull up. In IMC conditions performed escape profile climbing to 7;400 ft MSL. Advised ATC and was assured no terrain close to us. Called ATC on the ground and was advised we were right over a 4;300 ft peak when warning went off. ATC advised us of no loss of separation with other aircraft.
