Narrative:

Low speed abort. Forward cargo door EICAS message. Concurrent with selection of toga and engine run up to TO2 power; EICAS message 'fwd cargo door' appeared. Takeoff was aborted at a speed less than 50 KTS. Cleared runway; and taxied back to the ramp. Subsequent inspection of cargo door revealed no obvious discrepancies. During this ground interrupt the left engine was found to have lost the tail cone. A search found the tail cone in the area just off the approach end of runway xx. There were no indications in the cockpit of an engine problem.
