Narrative:
We aborted take off due to right eng hi stage EICAS message at 88 KTS. Upon informing tower; they told us to hold short of runway 28R. We were able to stop and exit on runway 28L. The aircraft landing on runway 28L was told to go around; the runway 28R traffic landed. We were surprised that during an abort we would get a crossing runway hold short clearance. Narrative: We aborted take off due to R Eng Hi Stage EICAS message at 88 KTS. Upon informing Tower; they told us to hold short of Runway 28R. We were able to stop and exit on Runway 28L. The aircraft landing on Runway 28L was told to go around; the Runway 28R traffic landed. We were surprised that during an abort we would get a crossing runway hold short clearance.
