Narrative:
Arrived at mdw for late scheduled departure time, XA00Z. Got a re-release at XB25 from dispatcher of mdw flight control at mdw per 1290. Blocked out at XB31Z, took off at XB41, aborted takeoff 60-80 KTS at XB42Z due to chime in cockpit. The fourth chime I started the abort procedure. Into the procedure I determined chime was SELCAL. (At mdw 4 chimes from the back is emergency.) there the captain chose to keep the aircraft on the ground. I taxied clear of the runway and called the company. They just wanted to know where we were. Flight followers had not been brought up to date on our re-release even though they are in the same room less than 10' apart--potentially a dangerous situation because people do not appear to be taking their jobs seriously. Xx of flight following were both working. Flight control was not cooperative when I asked their names. Specifically my dispatcher would not cooperate in this report. I could not find out who selcaled us.

Title: TKOF ABORT WHEN SELCAL SOUNDS.
Narrative: ARRIVED AT MDW FOR LATE SCHEDULED DEP TIME, XA00Z. GOT A RE-RELEASE AT XB25 FROM DISPATCHER OF MDW FLT CTL AT MDW PER 1290. FLT FOLLOWERS HAD NOT BEEN BROUGHT UP TO DATE ON OUR RE-RELEASE EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE IN THE SAME ROOM LESS THAN 10' APART--POTENTIALLY A DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE PEOPLE DO NOT APPEAR TO BE TAKING THEIR JOBS SERIOUSLY. XX OF FLT FOLLOWING WERE BOTH WORKING. FLT CTL WAS NOT COOPERATIVE WHEN I ASKED THEIR NAMES. SPECIFICALLY MY DISPATCHER WOULD NOT COOPERATE IN THIS RPT. I COULD NOT FIND OUT WHO SELCALED US.
