Narrative:

The incident occurred while training was in progress at the yardley sector (R55) at the ny ARTCC. At approximately XA31 UTC medium large transport X (bdl./.bwi) was issued a radar vector of 275 to intercept the mxe 056 degree radial at about 40 dem. At about xa 32 UTC I observed medium large transport X heading about 360 degrees towards the sbj VORTAC. This heading put medium large transport X in potential conflict with light transport Y (lga./.dca) whose position was approximately 5 NM northeast of the sbj VOR heading swbnd. At this time, radar vectors and altitude changes were issued to both aircraft in an attempt to avoid the confliction. Minimum sep appeared to have been lost at approximately XA33 UTC.

Title: CTLR TRAINING IN PROGRESS AND LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION OCCURRED BETWEEN MLG AND LTT ON CONVERGING COURSES AT SAME ALT.

Narrative: THE INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE TRNING WAS IN PROGRESS AT THE YARDLEY SECTOR (R55) AT THE NY ARTCC. AT APPROX XA31 UTC MLG X (BDL./.BWI) WAS ISSUED A RADAR VECTOR OF 275 TO INTERCEPT THE MXE 056 DEG RADIAL AT ABOUT 40 DEM. AT ABOUT XA 32 UTC I OBSERVED MLG X HDG ABOUT 360 DEGS TOWARDS THE SBJ VORTAC. THIS HDG PUT MLG X IN POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH LTT Y (LGA./.DCA) WHOSE POS WAS APPROX 5 NM NE OF THE SBJ VOR HDG SWBND. AT THIS TIME, RADAR VECTORS AND ALT CHANGES WERE ISSUED TO BOTH ACFT IN AN ATTEMPT TO AVOID THE CONFLICTION. MINIMUM SEP APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN LOST AT APPROX XA33 UTC.
