Switched to washington center 135.4 approximately over ott on dupont arrival to phl. Frequency was covered by a faint ATIS and occasional weak xmissions. Got out of range at approximately intersection of ott and dupont radials and communication restored. Potential hazard exists.

Narrative: SWITCHED TO WASHINGTON CENTER 135.4 APPROX OVER OTT ON DUPONT ARR TO PHL. FREQ WAS COVERED BY A FAINT ATIS AND OCCASIONAL WEAK XMISSIONS. GOT OUT OF RANGE AT APPROX INTXN OF OTT AND DUPONT RADIALS AND COMMUNICATION RESTORED. POTENTIAL HAZARD EXISTS.
