Narrative:

The B757-200 ETOPS check; page five; instructs the mechanic to check the APU for leaks with the APU running. Then it instructs the mechanic to check the oil quantity with the APU 'on' or 'off'. This is contradicting and confusing. It is unclear whether the intent of the paperwork is to run the APU. Suggest either the APU is checked while running; or 'off'. If it is mandatory for the APU to be checked while running; then some form of dispensation is required when the APU is MEL'd. If it is optional to run the APU for the ETOPS check then the reference to 'running' the APU should be struck.
